A whirlwind of events in the Bay Area start-up world was lead with a love of journalistic based magazine culture that blossomed into investments and blessings from international publishers. The grand finale of our work was integrated into Apple News+ and re-defined a pixel grid that Designer dreams are made of.
Our UX explorations re-invented the magazine lover’s Discovery Process by converting magazine print layouts into digital responsive grids. Content was easily found within a search and discovered on daily Top Stories. 300+ magazine titles are now accessible on various screen sizes all within one subscription.
It was the Ultimate information aggregation Design Challenge. I worked with the Design and Engineering teams to create UX wireframes, UI Design Specs and Prototypes for User Testing and Internal reviews.
Offline Downloading was created for Commuters and Travelers without access to WiFi. Design prototypes were compiled in iOS Test Flight and Android Studio to help provide a deterrent for fake news.
"Like a box of chocolates! I love having access to so many magazines! The ability to store articles to read at another time is a wonderful tool. I can also share access with other family members!"
"A fine way to read magazines... It’s a fine product, just as Texture was a fine product. And obviously, being pitched as an upsell inside an app that 85 million people use monthly"
KKR invested in Next Issue Media's Platform to provide one subscription model for popular magazines and rebranded as Texture achieving over 240,000 subscribers which was then acquired by Apple News+ boosting up to 85M monthly users.
